The hooded vulture is a relatively small vulture that lives in Africa south of the Sahara. They fly almost all day in groups over the savannah and urban areas in search of carcasses and meat scraps. At coastal areas at low tide they feed on molluscs, crabs and dead fish. They have dark brown feathers and a gray head. They live in pairs and usually make their nests in trees (palm trees). They are very loyal to their partner.
