The common buzzard is a medium to large bird of prey found throughout Europe and Asia. They have long broad wings, a short rounded tail and a short neck. The color of the plumage varies from dark brown to almost completely white. They nest in small woodlands on the edge of fields, meadows and moors. The menu of the buzzard is quite varied. They eat what is available. They hunt on birds, small mammals (rabbits, mice), reptiles and carrion. The common buzzards are eery territorial and they usually do mate for life.
