After the second World War, the Iron curtain ran through Germany, dividing the country in to two parts:
1)The Eastern Germany, Soviet-Union satellite state DDR( Deutsche Democratische Republic) and,
2)the Western Germany, American Influenced BRD( Bundesrepublik Deutschland) The Capital of the BRD was the city of Bonn. After reunification, Berlin became the capital of the unified Germany.
