The pygmy goat is a small type of wild goat. In the wild they are found in the rainforests and moist savannas of West Africa and Ivory Coast. They are also domesticated worldwide. It is the smallest type of domesticated goats. Because of their size (40-60 cm) and their character they are often found on children's farms. The pygmy goat pairs throughout the year. Gestation is five months. Dwarf goats become up to 15 and 20 years old. They feed mainly on grass, leaves, soft wood, roots and fruits. |
