The pygmy marmoset is the smallest monkey species on earth.
They live in the western part of the Amazon.
It is a diurnal omnivore which mainly feeds on tree sap (gum) and small animals such as grasshoppers, beetles, butterflies, ants and spiders.
Occasionally they also eat fruits, plants (leaves) and small vertebrates.
They live in small groups, often one or two couples and their children. |
