Did you know that the famous painter Carravagio (1571-1610) spent more then one year on the Island of Malta ?
Caravaggio arrived in Malta on the 12th July 1607 and fled the Island on October 6th 1608. During his stay he painted his famous painting”The beheading of St. John the Baptist”. This wonderful painting can now be admired in the impressive St. John's co-Cathedral in Valletta, Malta.
