The European garden spider is found in many parts of Europe and North America.
They are family of the orb-weavers.
The females are larger than males, in many cases almost double in size.
They have eight long hairy legs and eight eyes.
Their greatest enemies are insect eating birds, humans and climate (drought and rainfall).
They are also called cross spider or cross orbweaver, because of cross shaped markings on their back.
