Wallaby |
Wallabies are small to medium-sized kangaroos (Macropodidae).
They originally come from Australia and New Guinea.
New Guinea was once geographically connected with Australia.
Wallabies are now found in other parts of the world where they were introduced or managed to escape.
All kangaroos are herbivores.
Because of their smaller size wallabies live in more forested and vegetated areas than their larger counterparts.
Wallabies are generally more active during dusk and night and use the day to rest.
Because of their strong hind legs they can run fast and jump far. The legs are also used as a weapon.
Their long tail serves to keep balance and to sit upright. |
